Vortexx Pressure Washers – Home Owner Series Resources

Vortex Pressure WasherYou may not need to clean a fleet of construction vehicles or get a dry-docked ship ready for painting, but that doesn’t mean you need to miss out on professional quality when buying a pressure washer. Vortexx’s Homeowner and Homeowner+ deliver the same clever design of their commercial models in a small, affordable package.

What is a Vortexx Pressure Washer?

Vortexx builds their own carts using aluminum for low weight and corrosion resistance. The U-shape protects the motor and pump, while the slide down handle makes the unit compact enough to fit in the trunk of most cars. Everything needed to operate the washer can be stored on-board: there’s a place to hold the hose and gun, while Homeowner models have a built-in container for detergent.

Like the rest of Vortexx’s gas-powered products, these devices are powered by Honda engines and use pumps co-developed with AR to fit with their intended applications. Homeowner models come with a one year guarantee on pumps, up to 4 years of warranty on the engine depending on use, and a lifetime warranty on the cart.

Vortexx sells two models in their Homeowner line: the original Homeowner and the Homeowner+.

Homeowner VX10202D

Vortexx’s smallest model is powerful enough for most household jobs, such as cleaning siding and concrete.

Power is provided by a Honda GC 160 engine. It uses a resin overhead cam, cutting down noise, and it’s driven by a belt fitted inside the engine. Since it isn’t exposed to the elements and it gets lubricated by the engine oiling system, this belt will last the lifetime of the engine. That means getting the reliability Honda is famous for and less maintenance. Starting is easy, too, thanks to an automatic decompression system that engages whenever the starting cord is pulled, and fully electronic ignition system.

That engine directly drive an AR RMV Series pump. Designed for light industrial applications, the unit has a built-in pressure regulator and soap injection system, making it extremely easy to use. Together, the engine and pump produce 2,500 PSI of pressure and draw 2 Gallons of water per minute (5,000 Cleaning Units.)

The gun on the Homeowner uses nozzles with a size 2.5 orifice. Vortexx offers compatible nozzles that spray at 0°, 15°, and 25° plus a low pressure soap nozzle. This gun is connected to this pump via a 25 foot hose that is non-marking and easy to coil up once its time to move the cart.

Homeowner+ VX10202D

The Homeowner+ is basically a Homeowner with a little bit extra performance in each part of its design. The GC190 has all the features of the GC160, but adds some extra displacement and power. It drives an upgraded RMV Series pump, which increases flow rate and pressure for a total output of 2,700 PSI at 2.5 GPM (6,750 Cleaning Units.)

That extra power is handled by an upgraded gun assembly that uses nozzles with a 3.0 orifice size, offering the same 0°, 15°, 25° and low pressure soap nozzles as the Homeowner as well as a 40° option for wide coverage. The gun is connected to the pump with a 30 foot Easy Coil hose.

What does it add up to? It does all the cleaning the Homeowner does, plus a few tougher jobs. Need to get rid of moss? The extra power of the Homeowner+ makes it easy to clean heavily soiled brick or even refinish a deck.

Accessories

Need to adapt your new pressure washer to different tasks? Vortexx has you covered. Have a lot of different jobs to do, and hate having to constantly switch between nozzles? The Vari-Spray nozzle adjusts between 0-50° with a simple twist. Need to do a lot of heavy duty cleaning? The Roto Jet nozzle spins as it sprays, covering more surface area with a 0° spray for faster cleaning while keeping the spray from sitting in one spot where it might start doing surface damage.

Both the Homeowner and Homeowner+ can be fitted with a U-shaped attachment that lets you point the gun up toward the roof and have the water directed straight down into the gutter for easy cleaning. Need a little more reach? The AL36 gun pairs the gutter attachment with a 67 inch lance.
