Mantis XP Deluxe 16” Tiller/Cultivator

Mantis XP TillerHave a large area to till, but don’t want to mess with the weight and expense of a full size tiller? Mantis’ XP Deluxe is their biggest, most powerful tiller to date, but it’s still lightweight, making it easy to transport and use. With its four stroke engine and an array of accessories, this cultivator can take the effort out of many gardening and lawn care chores.

Two Stroke Power without Two Stroke Hassle

The XP Deluxe is powered by a Honda GX35. Despite a displacement of just 35cc, it’s a four stroke engine. That means easier starting, no need to mix gas and oil and greater reliability than two stroke powerplants. Better still, it uses far less fuel, cutting running costs in half. A compact overhead cam design keeps power up, but with a cam belt designed to last the life of the unit, there’s never any need to open the engine for maintenance. Since four strokes burn cleaner than two strokes, this engine has no problem meeting CARB and EPA regulations, making legal to sell and use throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Of course, all the power in the world doesn’t do any good unless it can be used. The motor’s crankshaft is connected to a one piece cast steel gearbox for maximum durability. This setup can spin the tiller’s at speeds up to 240 RPM, twice as fast as other lightweight tillers.

Making Quick Work of Any Dirt

The Deluxe is Mantis’ largest model, capable of tilling a 16 inch wide strip with each pass at depths up to 10 inches. No matter what type of soil you’re working with, from dry clay to thick, wet sod, Mantis’ unique spring serpentine tine design will cut through it with ease. In fact, they’re so confident of the cutting durability that the blades have a lifetime warranty.

Need to weed or cultivate? Mount the blades in reverse, and the unique tine design will skim across the top of the soil, making a shallow cut.

Easy to Use, Move and Store

At just 34 lbs, the XP Deluxe is easy to move around. Pick it up with the front-mounted handle, or add a set of optional wheels to roll it between job sites.

Ergonomically designed rubberized handles make operation comfortable, while built-in controls for the throttle and engine shut off mean less stooping over to make adjustments.

A built-in kickstand keeps the tiller upright for storage and maintenance. With the handle folded down, it’s compact enough to fit in a car trunk. No matter which way the motor is tilted, oil is kept in the crankcase and away from the combustion chamber for clean, easy starts after months of storage.

Expand Your Options

Add a plow, and the XP can make uniform furrows for planting or laying shallow cable for landscape lighting. It can be mounted to the front or rear of the tiller and adjusted for depth to carve out the right amount of space as you till.

Want to maintain a healthy lawn? The aerator and dethatcher attachments help air, water and nutrients reach the grass’s root system.
