Need to cover a lot of ground with a blower to clean off turf, pavement and landscape features? Don’t want to spend loads of money on a blower attachment for your mower, or just don’t want to have to switch between a blower and a mower deck? The JRCO Model 601 Blower Buggy solves this problem by adding a platform to the front of your mower that can carry a commercial walk-behind blower while it’s in operation.
What is the Blower Buggy?
This device is a front-mounted carrier that holds a standard commercial walk-behind leaf blower. Since these blowers don’t have any safety devices like bails on the handle that have to be closed to keep the motor on, they can simply be mounted, started, and moved around by the mower.
How does the Blower Mount to the Buggy?
The Blower Buggy has a heavy duty powder-coated tubular steel frame with two caster wheels up front. It’s 32 inches wide and 46 inches long with an adjustable platform to fit most three-wheel commercial walk-behind blowers. The floor pan sits just four-and-a-half inches above the ground, so it’s easy to load and unload blowers: just tilt the blower, roll the front wheel onto the front plate, then slide the rear wheels onto the two metal rods that run through the rear of the frame. Once the blower is on the floor pan, two metal plates slide onto the rods, providing a mount point for two of the three ratchet straps that wrap around the wheels to secure the blower to the buggy.
How Does the Buggy Attach to My Mower?
The rear of the frame curves up to meet a mounting bracket that is installed on a mower or tractor. This mount is designed to work with both riding mowers and zero turning radius mowers; JRCO has tested the mount with over 350 models from manufacturers ranging from Ariens to Zipper to ensure compatibility. Once the mount is installed, there are just two clevis pins attaching the buggy to the mount, so it just takes a few seconds to install and remove.
How Do I Adjust the Mounts to Fit My Blower?
The front wheel position is fixed, while the rear of the frame and the plates that support the rear wheels have a series of holes to allow the rods to be moved into a position that matches the width of the rear wheels and their distance in relation to the front wheel.
