What Can You Expect From Little Wonder Edgers?

little wonder pro edgerNot all commercial equipment is big: Little Wonder has been building industrial grade walk-behind and hand-held lawn care equipment since they invented the first hedge trimmer over 90 years ago. In that time, they’ve single-handedly created entire markets by inventing high-performance compact devices from mini tillers to blowers. Their Pro Edger is no different, delivering serious cutting performance without serious weight and size.

Power without Bulk

The Pro Edger has a 10-inch steel blade that can cut up to four inches deep for a clean finish. This blade is sharpened on all four sides, so you can simply flip the blade around when one side gets dull. Power is transferred to the blade using a pair of shielded belts to ensure minimal debris and slippage. Depth, belt tension, and blade engagement can all be adjusted from the control panel at the operator’s position.

The unit rolls on four 8-inch wheels, giving it stability over curbs without having to mess with lowering a separate curb wheel. These wheels spin on ball bearings and are mounted on full-length axles to let them roll easily for smoothness and maneuverability. It can cut as much as 90-feet per minute, which means the time it takes to finish a job depends as much on how fast you can move as the speed of the edger itself.

Need to clean cracks in the pavement? Little Wonder offers a 9-inch twisted wire brush disc that’s perfect for getting surface cracks ready for sealing and expansion joints ready for recaulking.

Aside from the engine, Little Wonder covers the Pro Edger for one year, whether it’s used at home or commercially. All this performance comes in a package that weighs as little as 65 lbs.

Two Engine Choices, One Great Edger

Little Wonder offers the Pro Edger with a choice of consumer and professional engines. Both of which are CARB and EPA certified, so they’re legal to use anywhere in the U.S. and Canada.

The Pro Edger 6033 is powered by a Briggs & Stratton Intek 550. It may be marketed to consumers, but that doesn’t mean it skimps on reliability. Ball bearings, a splash lubrication system that covers the entire engine, and an automotive-style air filter keep wear and tear in check for improved reliability, while the overhead valve head helps keep the motor cool and improves fuel efficiency. It’s warrantied for two years of consumer use or one year of commercial use.

Need a little more out of the engine? The 6232 is equipped with a Honda GX120 motor. It has many of the features of the Intek, and adds a few more for improved commercial performance. The oil alert system keeps the engine from running if the oil level is low, protecting the internals. The gas tank holds two liters, or just over three quarts, compared to the B&S’s two-and-a-quarter quart tank. Honda guarantees the engine with a three year limited warranty whether it’s used for residential, commercial or even rental use. The only downside is its 69 lb. weight, four pounds more than the 6033.
